Festivals

LANZONES FESTIVAL (3rd weekend of October) - a two day grand festival of agri-cottage industry product exhibits, barangay beautification, indigenous sports, tableau of local culture, grand parade of the golden fruit found prolific and extra sweet in the entire province. The festival is Camiguin’s contribution to Mindanao as cultural destination.

DAWIT-DAWIT TA BUAHAN, Bonbon Church Ruins (3rd Week of October) a ceremony that serve as a prelude to the lanzones festival perform by the locales during sundown.

SAN JUAN HIBOK-HIBOK (June 24) is annually held to honor St. John the Baptist. Venues of the festival are usually Cabua-an and/or Agohay Beaches. Watersports like boatraces, aqua palo sebo, fluvial parade/procession and search for Miss Hibok-Hibokan are conducted. Celebrated in the entire province, residents go to the nearest beach.

PANAAD (Holy Week) - a pilgrim’s yearly trek around the island in observance of the Lenten season. Thousands of visitors make this island a Mecca as they converge at the Walkway to the Old Volcano where the Stations of the Cross are situated for rituals or just getting together.

Camiguin offers a wide range of accommodation to suit every budget and taste. Modern resorts provide complete facilities for a comfortable stay, including excellent dining and recreation. For those who prefer a touch of rustic ambience, simplier cottages are available.
