Calagan
Muslims in the Gulf of Davao called themselves Calagans and they too speak the dialect of the East Coast Mandaya or Dinabaw. They are the descendants of the Calagans who left the East Coast, crossed the mountains or sailed into the gulf of Davao. They settled along the coasts of Lupon, Pantukan, Hijo, Lasang, Davao River and Sirawan. This was prior to introduction of Islam and Christianity.

The tribe of Talaingod Municipality in Davao del Norte which consist 97% of its total population. They are famous for culinary festival called "Kalibulongan"
Mansaka
The name given to those who lived "Sa Saka". The place beyond "Daya" or farther inland. "Taga Saka".
Mandaya
The name given to those who lived "Sa Daya" or "Taga Daya". "Daya" in the local dialect is the place not far from the sea but higher than the shore, the upland. They are the most numerous and made early contacts with Western Civilization because of their proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
Dibabawon
"Ibabaw" means upstream. Dibabawon is a tribe that settles along the headwaters of Libunganon River (the biggest river of Davao del NOrte). Their festival is "Andaun Tu Dibabawon".
