Dear Dir. Tiotuico;
With reference to the reported alleged illegal construction of a Resort structure particularly by a Korean National within the crater of Mt. Pinatubo and vicinities, Botolan, Zambales, please be informed that this Office had created a Team on February 28, 2011 to look on the issue.
Per report submitted, the Team found out that there are no illegal Resort structures found in Mt. Pinatubo crater and its vicinities, except for the Nipa Hut/sheds, comfort rooms, flat-form and a concreted Mini-park/lawn being used as rest area and viewing deck by Tourists visiting the area.
The said structures were constructed through the joint effort and cooperation of the Provincial Development Council (PDC) of the Province of Tarlac, DENR-CENRO Tarlac, Local Government (LGU) of the Municipality of Capas, Tarlac and the Barangay Council of Baran gay Sta. Juliana, Capas, Tarlac
