Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014

Venue: Rizal Park, Manila
The first time to be held in Manila, over 100 student teams are competing in the fifth edition
of the Shell Eco-marathon Asia.
Competing on home soil are about 15 teams from the Philippines’ top engineering
schools. They will be racing alongside students from universities, colleges and technical
institutes across 15 countries; including Egypt - who are fielding three teams to compete for
the first time.
Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and
test ultra energy-efficient vehicles. With annual events first in the Americas, then Europe and
Asia, the winners are the teams that go the furthest using the least amount of energy.
The Shell Eco-marathon Asia flag-off ceremony will be held on February 7 at the Luneta
Park, while the closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held on February 9 at the
Fiesta Pavilion of Manila Hotel.
Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014 is held in partnership with the Philippine Government:
Department of Tourism and the City of Manila. Private sector partners are Unilever
Philippines, Solane, Coca-Cola, Globe, Lego and Hyundai.

UN SINGS FOR TACLOBAN

THE UN SINGERS will perform in a free concert at the Glorietta Activity Center on March 3, 2014 at 6pm called UN SINGS FOR TACLOBAN.
The concert is made possible through the sponsorship of the Ayala Malls and the Makati Tourism Foundation. Inc.. Donations for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Divine Word Hospital of Tacloban City will be solicited at the venue.
The Divine Word Hospital, run by the Benedictine nuns, was heavily damaged during Typhoon Yolanda.
The UN Singers, a choir composed of present and former staff of the UN and its agencies and permanent missions, was formed in 1947 to spread the message of harmony and understand through music. Coming from nearly 30 countries, the UN Singers will be in the Philippines to perform a number of benefit performances. Their performances showcase songs from all over the world.

The Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is a music festival taking place on
June 21, every year, around the globe.
For the first time in 20 years, Fête de la musique will be celebrated simultaneously on the 3
main stages across 2 cities and 19 pocket stages, all free of cover charge as always.
Fête de la Musique aims to showcase the breadth and depth of Filipino talent while
promoting universal values such as freedom, cultural diversity as well as generosity, as
most of the artists are performing for free. The spirit of Fête also promotes brotherhood
among nations and the joy to share together the same passion for music, art and culture.
This year's event is being presented by the Alliance Française de Manille (AFM), the
Department of Tourism (DOT), Intramuros Administration, the Embassy of France to the
Philippines in partnership with B-Side Productions and Viva Manila.
Wattah! Wattah! San Juan Festival

A yearly celebration of the Feast of St. John the Batist, the city's patron saint, highlighted by
Street party and Watercade which starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Pinaglabanan Memorial Shrine.
In addition, an Inter-Barangay Streetdancing Competition and the much-awaited "Santong
Tao" Float Parade will also be held.
From its humble beginnings, the festival has gathered quite a numerous audience from
different parts of the country coming to experience the revelry of "Basaan". Wattah! Wattah!
Festival is San Juan City's way of taking part in promoting tourism in the National Cpaital
Region.
HoReCa Makati Festival 2014: “Finest Footprint at its First”

HoReCa Makati Festival 2014 is a first-ever tourism event that seeks to embody the soulful tourism business
experience, a local and international tourist fervently desires, situated in a highly classy and elegant

cafes, catering service companies and other related tourism enterprises.
The origin of HoReCa is attributed to rich countries in Europe that recognizes the sector of the hotels, restos

This annual event endorsed by the local city government and organized together by the Quezon City Tourism
Council and STRAM, Incorporated boasts of activities that are eagerly awaited by the local businesses,

which the QC-NA offers.
In the past, QC-NA was staged and sponsored by the different malls and venues within Quezon City, among
them: Araneta Gateway Mall (2008), Eastwood City (2009), QC Memorial Circle (2010), SM North (2012), and
TRINOMA Mall (2013). The event has helped promote the tourism, hospitality, entertainment, education,
