Festival of Festivals
The Leyte Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals is a showcase of the unique culture and colorful history of the Province of Leyte. It was first celebrated in 1996 through the inspiration and leadership of former Governor and Leyte 1st District Representative Remedios L. Petilla.
Kasadyaan means merrymaking and gaiety. During the festival celebration, the municipal festivals of the province converge to stage a colorful and vibrant dance-drama parade and ritual dance presentations, portraying local history, folklore, legend and way of life distinct to their locality
The Pintados Festival of Tacloban
The Pintados Festival of Tacloban is held in honor of the miraculous Senor Sto Nino de Leyte whose feast day is celebrated on June 30. It showcases our ancestors' ancient practice of body painting and how they became Christians. It was first celebrated in 1987 and has now evolved to become one of the landmark events in Leyte.
