BE A “STAR” AND EARN THE BENEFITS AND INCENTIVES OF DOT ACCREDITATION!
DOT will soon implement a new classification system on the facilities and services of hotels, resorts, and apartment hotels, which means that they will now be classified as 1 -5 star hotels or resorts (no longer economy or standard) depending on the result of their score card. To successfully implement this system, all accommodation enterprises that fall under this category will be given a booklet to better inform them on the new set of criteria and standards of classification. For this purpose, DOT will soon commission the services of a third-party inspection team (officially known “assessors”) to conduct inspection and classification of all accommodation enterprises. In the interregnum, all accredited establishments whose accreditation expires in November this year will still file their renewal under the old classification system (economy to first Class) with their accreditation to expire on June 30 of next year. Starting November this year until June of next year, the third-party assessors will begin to conduct official inspection and classification of all accommodation enterprises all over the country. These establishments that pass the standards will then be awarded with a marker or signage to identify their official star classification based on the news set of standards and criteria. FOR THE GUIDANCE OF ALL CONCERNED!
