Air travelers to Iloilo, Guimaras, parts of Capiz and Antique are now embarking and departing from the New Iloilo Airport located at Cabatuan, Iloilo approximately 19 kms. northwest of Iloilo City. The new airport sits on a 188 ha. airport complex, it boasts of a 2.5 km. by 45 m wide runway which can accommodate Airbus 330 and 340 and Boeing 747 aircrafts. It has three (3) passenger bridges, two baggage claim conveyors and a 500 seating capacity passenger lounge.
The 8.758 Billion peso complex became operational last June 14 and is considered to be the most modern airport in the country today.
Transportation modes available at the airport include metered taxi (approximately P165-180 one way), coupon taxi at P400. Point to point express vans and jeepneys are also available.
