Designated toll booths are equipped with cashless collection systems that significantly shorten transaction time at the toll plazas. The different products were designed specifically to meet the different needs of NLEX customers - from private car owners to jeepney and truck operators. Through these products and services, all motorists are assured of a fast and convenient travel along the modernized expressway. EC TAG The EC Tag is a cashless toll collection system exclusively available for Class 1 vehicles (including cars, jeepneys, and one-axle pickups and vans). An electronic gadget, called a transponder and attached to the vehicle's windshield, contains account information that can be read by an antenna at dedicated toll lanes. It allows private motorists the privilege of quick, cashless entry and exit at designated toll booths. EC Tag users can choose from two subscription scheme options: EC TAG The Summit (Yellow) EC Tag is for private motorists who own one Class 1 vehicle. In this subscription scheme, only one transponder is assigned per account. The Premiere (Blue) EC Tag may be acquired by private motorists who own more than one Class 1 vehicle. This enables the subscriber to place several vehicles under one account. This is ideal for corporate accounts and businesses with a fleet of company vehicles. MAGNETIC SWIPE CARDS The magnetic swipe cards are available for Class 2 (two-axle trucks, buses and vans) and Class 3 (three or more axles) vehicles. It acts like a prepaid card loaded with a certain amount from which the corresponding toll is debited each time the vehicle passes through the toll plazas of the NLEX. These cards are ideal for those who operate a fleet of jeepneys, buses and trucks that frequently ply the expressway. Several cards can be made available under one account. Three privilege schemes are available for the magnetic swipe cards: • Pass-ada is an unlimited day pass for the exclusive use of accredited jeepneys plying the NLEX. For P190 a day, any accredited passenger jeepney can have unlimited access to the Open System of the NLEX the whole day. All they have to do is avail of the Pass-ada card for each jeepney unit. This is available to accredited jeepney associations in Bulacan that ply the NLEX. • Tsuper Card is the counterpart of the Pass-ada in the Pampanga area. Accredited jeepney associations that go through the NLEX Closed System in Pampanga can enjoy rebates every month. The following are the routes entitled to the Tsuper Card with the corresponding monthly rebate: • Angeles - San Fernando (12% rebate) • San Simon - San Fernando (12% rebate) • Dau - San Fernando (32 % rebate) • NLE Badge is for passenger buses and trucking companies. The NLE Badge enables subscribers to earn rebates of 10% to 15% when they use the NLEX Open System. Motorists and vehicle owners can avail of several badges subscribed under one account. They can also request for a detailed monitoring report that shows each of their vehicle's use of the tollways. Also available at the customer service centers are copies of the New North Luzon Expressway Motorist's Handbook , a handy guide explaining traffic rules and regulations on the expressway, its road signs and signals, how to handle emergencies, general tips for driving on the NLEX, and maps of the expressway's exits and their adjoining roads.
