TWIN INTL EVENTS IN MANILA!

JOIN TWO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES IN MANILA FOR TOURISM EDUCATORS AND STUDENTS: 1) PATA MANILA YOUTH FORUM; and 2) 1ST LPU INTL. HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM CONFERENCE!

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has been the leading voice and authority on travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region since 1951. On September 25-28 this year, the PATA Travel Mart returns to Manila for another grand event at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City, Philippines.

Through the initiative of PATA’s Education and Training Committee, the PATA 2012 Manila Youth Forum was conceptualized, targeting Tourism students from various local schools and those in the Asia-Pacific Region, and making additional use of the time the PATA officers will spend here during the Travel Mart. The forum will be held on September 27, 2012 at the JPL Hall of Freedom, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), Manila.

It will be the first time a PATA Youth Forum will be held in Manila, and we, the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management of the Lyceum of the Philippines University, have accepted the offer to host this one-day event.

Our goals in staging this event for the students are five-fold: to identify the role of PATA regionally; to define its strategic direction for the next 5 years; to let students connect with PATA’s “Next Gen” theme; to initiate linkages with other local and international Tourism students; and, to recommend future activities for member schools.

Topics of interest include: Introduction to PATA and the Next Gen, Innovation and Marketing - Why We Need to Think and Do Things Differently, Importance of Trade Shows, Introducing the ITB concept to Young Professionals, Social Media / PATA POWER, Crisis Prevention Management in Tourism, How PATA can Support your Career, Developing the Tourism Professional: Attitude, Knowledge and Skills, and Thrilla in Manila, Part II: Debate on the Future of Leadership in Travel and Tourism in the Emerging New World Order.

We extend an invitation for Tourism students then to attend the first-ever PATA 2012 Manila Youth Forum at our JPL Hall on September 27? Entrance tickets cost only P600 (US$15) each and include Lunch, two (2) snacks, a Conference Kit, a Certificate of Attendance, and entry to the PATA Travel Mart at SMX. For tickets/reservations, email [email protected] or call her at (632) 527-2744.

The accompanying eFlyer gives you more details on the event. If there is anything else you need clarification on, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you.

Very truly yours,
