SUBJECT : 6TH UNWTO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TOURISM STATISTICS
PHILIPPINES - The Department of Tourism and the World Tourism Organization (WTO) are jointly organizing the 6th UNWTO International Conference on Tourism Statistics on June 21 – 23, 2017 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport City, Pasay City.
The conference is meant to be a landmark opportunity to discuss methodological advances, explore emerging issues and learn from pioneering country experiences in this area of measurement. UNWTO recognizes that, apart from being a technical exercise, the development and implementation of a statistical framework for sustainable tourism is very much a strategic endeavour that will require stakeholder engagement, inter-institutional coordination and political leadership. It will bring together UNWTO Tourism and Environment Ministers, Chief Statisticians, and international organizations to shape the landscape of tourism statistics in the midst of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Meals and refreshment will be provided during the conference while transportation and accommodation will be on pax account.
