Probably the regions best fine beach awaits you at Malamawi Island. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing and fishing, the island serves as a gateway to Basilan. Also found here is the traditional resting place of the nomad sea-faring Bajaus and Sama-Luans-Banguingui. It also boasts of the only lake in the province with wild ducks. Another feature found in the Island is Panigayan fishing village where spearfishing is recommended.
A side trip to Isabela City will bring you to the actual processing of rubber, the famous Basilan coffee, black pepper, and African palm oil in a plantation now owned and run by a local cooperative, the unique picturesque houses on stilts in Carbon and the fishermen catches for the day amply displayed for sale at the market.
